  1. Thanks!! using "efi" in the search did it.
  2. John- the icons used in the Finder for hard drives are not the same as the icons used on the Startup Manager screen. To illustrate this, my Startup Manager screen on my Mac Mini shows the main boot drive with an icon I made of the old black MacBook, which was my previous Mac. A couple years ago, I migrated the MacBook to the Mac Mini. I got the idea to change this icon from Adam but it was so long ago, I can't remember!
  3. I can't find an old podcast with instructions on how to change the boot drives' icons in the Startup Manager screen (when you press Option during startup). Any suggestions on where to find it? It can't find anything online either. My Mac Mini has an old MacBook icon and I'd like to change it.
  4. I worked there for 6 years (2001-2007). Periodically China blocks sites. Your best bet is to try a proxy. I used one quite regularly when I was there.
  5. The MacCast has inspired me to explore Automator. This is a great app. The Automator Action Item "Move Finder Items" only allows you to move files to an existing folder that you assign in Automator. However, I can't figure out how to move a folder's contents to 1) another folder, but where Automator asks me what folder to input it into when the workflow is running. 2) into a new folder that I am asked to create when running the workflow. I've searched quite a bit online and it appears that I need to create an Applescript that I then input into the Automator workflow. However, Applescript has a learning curve that I don't have time for right now. The time it would take me to learn Applescript would negate the time I would save from using the script!
