    Purchased Music

.... okay, I figgered it out .... When I ran migration assistant when transferring from the G5 to the intel, it kept "fouling" up (I attribute it to the dying hard drive in the G5) so, I cut and pasted all my music via the firewire. This transferred the songs, and when I authorized the computer, all the purchased music certainly played fine, I just did not have a purchased playlist. Apparently, the purchased playlist is created on your first purchase. Since the new iMac had no reason to believe I had made a purchase yet, it did not create a purchased playlist. Not having a particular song I wanted to buy right yet, I decided to download some off-beat free song, which did (indeed) create the playlist. But it did not add the existing purchased songs to it. I located the itunes music file, queried for all songs ".m4p", and then dragged them into the purchased playlist. Lots of work, but at least it is done now. WJ

    what does Orig_002ea819.IETemp mean?

Found IE. Didn't even know I had it. Deleted it. iTunes still looking for this Temp file. Interestingly, on my wife's side, when she updates her mini, it doesn't ask for it. Wonder if I need to erase my 3G and reinstall the music? I guess what I am saying is, that on the other account, and with the other ipod, it works fine - just mine give this pain in the butt pop-up. Still frustrated, W Jones

    Uninstall

A couple of podcasts ago, Adam mentioned either (a) a method to or ( a utility to completely remove a program (uninstall). I have to uninstall my iTunes and re-install a new copy. Suggestions on what was decided as "a best way"? Thanks W J iMac G5 1.8 Power PC

  10. I have a 3G. Love it, don't care about video ... just music. Recently upgraded my itunes to recent version (from an older 5.01 veresion). Now, every time I sync the ipod, it gives me the following: Searching for movie data in Orig_002ea819.IETemp then it says The movie fike "Orig_002ea819.IETemp" cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot play properly. Anyone? Thanks W Jones

    [clean] versus [explicit]

Okay, ... so I may have to contact apple. I have tried, but I get no response. Anybody have a link, or number, or e.mail, or whatever? I'm not really knowledgable ... on how to go about this. Thanks
  12. Anyone know how I can go back into itunes, and edit my profile for my podcast so that I can get the [clean] icon on my 'casts? or is it a string I add to the uploaded file? In any case, anybody got some guidance on this? Thanks W Jones

    itunes - database

Question: If I import a CD to itunes under my account, will it show up under someone elses account on the same imac? That is, when that account syncs their ipod, will they get that CD? Thanks W J
