  1. Howdy, I'm looking for a program that does the same job as Google Notifier for POP3/Exchange servers. Is there anything out there? I looked around and didn't find anything right off bat so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks, J-

MacBook Air Question - original model

Her Windows PC use is limited. Her school uses a program that she uses which gives her access to their security cameras and she occasionally has to use it to open the odd document. On a bust week she may use it 3/4 times max. The bulk of her work is Office and web based. We were thinking about the Air because she is becoming more and more mobile...she's speaking at conferences more (Powerpoint/Keynote) and she's running several district programs that keep her moving about and it would be nice to get a lighter laptop for her. The 15" MBP she has now is a little much to lug around all the time. Her current laptop has 2GB of memory and she is not anywhere close to the limits of the disk. I'm thinking the 2GB on the Air and the 80GB disk is plenty.
  3. Howdy, I noticed that the Apple Store has refirbed MB Airs in both the 1.6 and 1.8 GHz configurations. I'm thinking of picking up one of the 1.6 models for my wife. She does mostly Office/web work but she does occasionally use a Parallels Virtual PC for some school software (she's a principal) Is there any reason I should spend more and get her a current model over the refirb? Does anyone know of any specific issues with this model in particular? She's not a heavy/power user but she does rely on her laptop quite a bit. Right now she has an older MBP (15") Any input would be great...thanks, J-

    Monitor Arrangement switching

Funny, now that I've gone through a cycle...home...work...home mine does that same thing.
  5. Howdy, I'm hoping someone has an easy solution for me. I have a MacBook Pro...at home I have a nice Apple display that sits to the right of my laptop (it's mounted on an arm on the wall) At work I use the MBP but there I have a so-so Dell Monitor...that sits to the left of my laptop. So, is there an easy way to tell my laptop "When I'm at work arrange that monitors this way..." and then tell it "When I'm at home arrange them this other way without having to open system preferences...displays, etc...? Applescript? Application? I already use the program Home and Away to do some location specific scripting. Any help would be great. Thanks, J-
  6. Howdy, Does anyone out there have any recommendations on where to get a good USB enclosure for the hard drive out of my 3G iPod? The iPod has seen better days and has been replaced with a newer model, but the HD is in good shape and I figured I could get some more use out of it. Thanks, Jason
