No Apple Store Nearby? Here's My Suggestion:

Yup, CompUSA is great. Apple Store is too far away for me, so it's nice to have CompUSA nearby. I bought my iMac there and recently when the SuperDrive died, I brought it there and they fixed it within a week.

    April 1st?

I know the new Apple Store in the mall near me is opening April 1st (if it means anything).

dropped my ipod and it has turned off

Hey, you dropped it. It's your fault. They'd probably replace it anyways, but really it was your fault.

    iPod or PSP

I have both also and I really like my iPod better. I rarely play games on the PSP (if I wanted to, I'd play Xbox or some other real console), but I'm always listening to music. I like to pass time listening to music rather than playing games. It's all a personal preference.

    how to have someone switch

Why do you want him to switch? If everything on the Windows side (as innefficient as it is) works for him then let him be. Don't try to force him to spend some money on something he obviously doesn't want or need for that matter, considering it's basically a brand new Vaio, just because you think its better.

Speed up Spotlight - and the whole system

Awesome tip! I never search for items in that folder anyways, so it's all good. Thanks!

    iMac 2.0Ghz Core Duo - A Review

Dude... it's faster than a G5 for the same price. In a few months, most software will be universal binaries anyways. Doesn't get better than that.

have a windows machine but want to show some mac pride?

Oh god, why? No offense, but that looks terrible. Brushed metal everywhere :?, yuck. OSX is not just all about the look of it. I love the reliability and simplicity; something you could never recreate in Windows.

    Why I hate intel

Who cares? As long as it's not slower than the PPC processors, then what's the problem? If you think Intel sucks, then you are gonna have a huge problem buying a new Mac when the time comes because Intel chips are the future chips for Apple.

Review iSkin eVo3 for ipod with video.

I understand that of course, but I was merely pointing out the bad sides of this product (you seem to have pointed out all the good points ) just to make a more complete review. Maybe I might have may have gone overboard, but more info in a review thread never hurts. As for the reponse, you really didn't have to since I wasn't putting any blame on you, just the iSkin company. You posted a great review, and I posted my own review also. Didn't mean to insult you.

Review iSkin eVo3 for ipod with video.

I bought this case after reading your review, don't like it at all though. Way too expensive for a piece of silicon. The Visor scratches pretty easily, so that silly acronym is pretty much BS. Also, the thing is huge. It adds a good .5 inch to the size of the iPod. They grip might be good, but I perfer the feel of a thin naked iPod. Also, the belt clip is absolute junk. The thing feels like it could break with every spin. It's made of very cheap plastic material. The silicon on the click wheel can get very annoying because of the extra traction. Scrolling through 3k songs with a rubber click wheel is very hard. And the hold switch becomes extremely useless. Biggest waste of $35 ever.

I went out and bought my copy along with iwork from the Apple Store yesterday. Also bought a .Mac account with it also. Really loving the integration between the two.

Maccworld - ALL PRODUCTS STILL AVAILABLE!

The specs page at intel.com seems to be broken, but I suspect it's 32 bit. THAT SUCKS! WHY ON EARTH WOULD THEY SWITCH FROM 64 BIT TO 32 BIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!       :x :x :x :x :x :-({|= :-({|= :-({|= :-({|= :-({|= :-& :-& :-& :-& :-& :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) Sound like your just mad because you bought a Mac and it was then updated to be better. It's alright, I bought an iMac last month. Kinda mad at the 2x speed upgrade but I like the fact that my Mac can run PowerPC apps without Rosetta.

    Cracked 5gen Ipod Screen

Nooooo. Far from that. The Apple Store actually charges you a 10% restocking fee if the item is opened. If the product however is found to be defective by one of the guys at the Genius Bar then they give you an option of exchanging it for a new one or returning it for your money back without the restocking fee. But if it is damage not covered by warranty (which you already found it wasn't) then they won't do anything. Other stores may do it (I know Target allows you to return iPods without a restocking fee) but the Apple Store won't.

Review iSkin eVo3 for ipod with video.

Niec review. I was planning on getting the arctic one for my 30GB iPod, but was wondering how does the "VISOR" attachment hold up to scratches itself.

    Speed up Safari

Woah, definetely makes it slightly faster. Why isn't it set at this by default?

    Invisible Shield

Also, if you aren't willing to pay $25 for this invisible shield, http://bestskinsever.com sells the exact samething for $7 with shipping. I bought one from bestskinsever and am very satisified.

    Shapeshifter

Hehe, trying to crack software? I don't think there's a way other than paying the $20 bucks. Honestly, I don't see why you should even have to use Shapeshifter. I paid $20 for it and ended up uninstalling it a few days later. A huge waste of money (maybe I can resell it to you for $10 and get something back, not sure if that is legal though). The default Aqua theme is already really nice. But if you really want it, pay for it, it's only $20. Don't try to crack it, you only hurt the future of the program by cheating the developers out of money.

    Mac Emulator for Pc

It's not worth the trouble. Either pickup a copy of the OSx86 image of OSX (which is illegal), or go buy a Mac. PearPC was unbelieveable slow when I had used it; it's more of something you can show off, rather than any practicality. It works, but loading is going to take much longer than a real Mac or the OSx86 version.

Need 1gig RAM stick for my iMac 1.8ghz 20inch

I reccomend Crucial. http://crucial.com They have a tool where you can enter in the model of your Mac and it will return of a list of guarenteed compatible RAM. I bought a 512 stick from them for my rev. c iMac without any problems. They usually have the best prices and is always of the highest quality. I bought 2 512MB sticks for my PC 4 years ago and they still work perfectly.

    imac G5 Memory?

You can install it yourself very easily. There are instructions in the support section of the apple site. I bought a 512MB stick from Crucial last week for my iMac G5. Installing was a breeze; just had to unscrew a little faceplate at the bottom and pop the RAM in.

    Aperture

I disagree. For a program that costs $500, it has no where near the features that Photoshop CS2 has, and Photoshop costs just a bit more. True, it is very easy to use, but there isn't much that it can do to begin with. You can tweak a few settings and organize your photos, but you can't do as much as you can with Photoshop. I don't think professionals who pre-ordered this app really got their $500 worth. I do have to say that it does fly on my iMac 1.9ghz with 1GB of ram though. Loads up in under 3 seconds and images load relatively fast (JPG images at least, RAW files start to make osx slow down significantly).
