    GTA IV Countdown Widget

If you're a GTA fan and can't wait for the game to come out, take a look at the widget I made. You can download it free here: http://flickr.com/photos/shadowtech/441536153/

    Toast Titanium 8 Just released

Blue-Ray supprt = great! Tivo support = awesome! The positives stop there, unfortunately. I have an iBook G4 1.42 GHz (1GB RAM), and the menus are horribly slow because of the animation effects (even when you turn off the effects, there are still computer-slowing menu effects!) The main window is very large, almost completely unresizable and reminds me of a full-screen Windows application. When you actually burn a disc, the window does this "special-effect-transform-into-a-little-window-with-big-text" trick. It's just not necessary, and you can't see your burning progress bar anymore, or any other info of say, what files are on there etc. Buy Toast 7, it's much better than 8 as long as you don't need BR-Disc buring or Tivo support.

    Recognize this widget....in black?

http://www.spintriplet.com/ Ah! I found it, its on the developer's site....its the beta version that's in black.
  4. I used to have the very widget you see here - Air Traffic Control - but in black. I can't remember for the life of me where I found it, but it looked really cool on my dashboard. Does anyone have the widget mod I seem to remember? Or know where I can download it? Thanks.

    Resizing disk images? (DMGs)

I remember there being discussion about disk images on a previous episode of the podcast. Here's the situation: I have a dmg file (read/write) that has extra free space allocated to it, and I want to somehow get it down to just the actual size of the data on the disk image. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks!

    Network/internet monitor app?

Thanks thats exactly what I was looking for!
  7. Does anyone know of an app that will alert you when your disconnected from the net, or other general network alerts? I'm thinking like maybe a growl alert, that kinda thing. Thanks.

    Activity Monitor question

Does anyone have an explanation for what the "virtual memory" actually is under Activity Monitor? I know what the "real memory" is of course, but the "virtual memory" seems like such a large amount, and I have no idea where it's coming from... Thanks!
  9. Okay so you can't use Boot Camp if you have a PPC Mac. But if you're feeling a little left out in the midst of all this dual-booting hype and want to get in on the action - why not try installing Ubuntu or Yellow Dog linux on your PPC Mac? The Ubuntu install cd even lets you play around with the desktop and applications before you ever decide to install it to your HD. I'm planning on installing Ubuntu on my iBook G4 this week, as soon as my firewire cable comes in the mail (so I can do a full backup of my HD). Personally I have no interest in running Windows anyway, and if I did have an intel Mac I would be dual booting Linux anyway, haha. Anyone else currently dual booting OS X and Linux?

    New Yahoo Messenger released

There's a new YIM client out, and surprise, surprise: It actually feels like a genuine OS X app! http://messenger.yahoo.com/mac.php I think it's great, other than the fact that I don't use Yahoo. But it's supposed to eventually support MSN, so I'll be revisiting it then.

    Ultra-portable Mac? Let's hope so!

Whenever Steve Jobs says something now, I just assume his statement only applies to the same day in which it was stated.

    eMacCast - it sounds better!

During the last episode, Adam suggested people with iPods should really check out the enhanced version (which I did). Of course it has all the bookmarking features and so on, but I was a little surprised to hear the difference in the quality of the audio. Is it a higher bitrate, or is the ACC codec just better at the same settings? I totally suggest switching to the eMacCast, podcasts in standard MP3 just don't make sense anymore, haha!
