  1. Hey, i just asked the 1Password support if you get more than one license-key if you buy multiple licenses. If that is the case, is anyone interested in joining me? It's about $105 for 5 licenses (educational store). Thats nearly 50% discount compared to the normal price. If you don't trust a random guy on the internet, we could use Paypal so you could get your money back if i don't deliver.
  2. TextExpander Bug?

I recently did a fresh install of Snow Leopard. Everything went very well and within hours i had the system back up running perfectly. But the new installation of TextExpander only seems to work when i first click on its menubar item. I've got it set up so that TextExpander starts on startup but only shows me the menubar item, no dock. When i then type in a snippet abbreviation nothing happens. Then i do a single left klick on the menubar item ( and after that another click somewhere else on the screen to close the popup ). Now everything will work just fine until i reboot. Someone got the same problem or a solution?

  4. Removing iChat logo from Mail?

I'm wondering if i can remove my user/iChat image from Mail but still keep it as the user image. I like having a real picture when i log in but don't want to send it via email to unknown people. -Daywalkerdha

  7. iPhone alarm clock suggestions?

I think i found something that will do everything. Link This is an excerpt of a email i got back from them: Yes the GrooveNeo will work as an alarm clock that will allow you to wake up to music on your iphone. And yes it does have a snooze function. To select the songs you want to wake up to: Make sure that whenever you stop the iPod from playing that you use the power button on the NEO instead of the iPod controls on the front of the iPod, otherwise the iPod will fail to turn on when the alarm goes off. These other products will also work with the iphone 3gs http://www.cygnett.com/products/speakers/g_time2.htm http://www.cygnett.com/products/speakers/g_move.htm We have a new product that will be available in December http://www.cygnett.com/products/speakers/sonata.htm Regards
  8. iPhone alarm clock suggestions?

Yes, the charging circuitry is different. I built a portable charger that needs 2 AA's and will charge the iPhone and that also only works either with the original or the 3G. About the interference problems, I put it into fight mode but still no charging. I also tried to put out the alarm sounds over the Apple Dock / headphone jack and neither worked so maybe it's not possible. Does someone know this? They say it should work.
  9. iPhone clock

    Me too
  10. iPhone alarm clock suggestions?

I tried the built-in function. I am looking for a dock-like stand where the iPhone gets charged over night and integrated speakers to amplify the sounds or a playlist. edit: just saw that it does what i need Does someone know if it also charges iPhones because here it only says that it will charge iPods? I already tried a simple speaker/dock combo from a local store and the iPhone displayed a message that it won't charge with that dock.
  11. Scheduled backups to the cloud

I wanted to let you know about an easy way to backup smaller stuff to the cloud without having to remember to do so. This method uses a very cool tool called Dropbox (getdropbox.com) , an Automator action and iCal. Dropbox gives you 2Gb free storage on the internet (+256Mb for you and me over this link). You have to install their small application that runs in the background and synchronizes your local Dropbox folder to you online folder. What's cool about it is that you get full write speed to your harddisk and the upload is done later without any interaction in the background by the software. It also has more features that are not required for this tip, like: - public folder (you can cmd/right-click on a file in the public Dropbox folder and get an online link you can share with others) - photo folder with online interface to create galleries - shared folders you can share with your friends (I use it to keep my college folder with pdf's etc. in sync with some friends) Once you have set up Dropbox you need an Automator action that copies the files you want to backup into your local Dropbox folder. It's very easy to do, just start Automator, go to the files and folders section and there you'll find the two templates you need (don't know the exact English names because I have the German version). Just make sure you save it as an application an not as a workflow when your done. After that you open iCal and create a new calendar to store the scripts in you want to schedule. Then you can create reoccurring events that open an application (your action) as a notification for the event. I hope this helps someone.
  12. iPhone clock

I have O2 in Germany and my clock doesn't sync either
  13. iPhone alarm clock suggestions?

I'm looking for an alarm clock that works with my iPhone. Preferably with some kind of snooze button and the possibility to use the integrated sounds over external speakers.
  14. iChat logs to Adium transcripts

I found the problem. Adium doesn't seem to look for the path to the logs but just check the default one. I copied the folder into my documents folder(default) and it worked.
  15. iChat logs to Adium transcripts

i recently switched to Adium and tried to import my iChat logs with the built-in import feature. The thing is that Adium says that it imported my logs but they don't appear in the transcript viewer. Maybe this has something to do with that i changed the directory where they are stored in the ichat preferences when i installed Snow Leopard? Another suggestion would be that i used iChat for the ICQ-protocol by entering my account information into the aim-preset in iChat. Maybe that changed the format my logs were saved in?
