    Encoding video_ts files

Sorry. After about a half hour of googling I found one. Sorry for the waste of the topic.

    Encoding video_ts files

Does anyone have any software to encode video_ts files to either mpeg or h.264?

Anyone want Civilization 4 for cheap?

I didn't know that actually. Thats kinda netat. Sorry for the wrong forum.
  4. Hey, I went out on a limb and bought Civ 4 for Mac. I was dissapointed in the gameplay (I prefer Call to Power). It's playable, but a little jerky. I don't think I will play it much longer. I was curious if anyone wanted to buy it for around $30 including shipping. I have the origional packaging and everything. Its 3 days old now. I know this is a weird place to post this, but I figured someone here would be more trustworthy than a larger forum. I am willing to send it to the person before they pay. If anyone is interested, email me at georgemoore13 at gmail.com

    Gaming on the Macbook

This is encouraging. I am going to get it regardless of its gaming capabilities, but gaming is a nice bonus. I was extremely impressed with the Macbook. I was at the Apple retail store playing with the 1.83 GHz model with 512 MB of RAM and it was really impressive at multitasking. I opened iTunes and had it convert some songs to mp3, then opened iPhoto and had it export some photos, then I had it play back a 720p Xmen 3 trailer. It did it all flawlessly. The video was smooth and everything. I also tried playing a Fantastic 4 trailer and then playing the X men trailer full screen and still had no problems. I am so excitied. It should be quite an improvement from my current 1.7 GHz, 256 RAM Dell.

    Gaming on the Macbook

Hahaha, Thanks everyone. You have been really helpful. I think I am going to stick with the stock drive and get a larger one or external one later. You guys rock.

    Gaming on the Macbook

Thanks, that was very very helpful.. Ok, so high end gaming is out... What about Spore (when it comes out)? And with the hard drives, will the Macbook take any 9.5 mm SATA drive? And how much is a faster drive going to lower battery life? (The Mac community is so much more helpful and accessible. I can't wait to switch)

    Gaming on the Macbook

I am looking to get the Macbook for college. I think I am going to get the 2.0 GHz Core Duo Macbook with 2 GB of RAM. Most of what I have heard is you can't play any of the higher end game on them. I was curious if this is true even with 2 GB of RAM...I mean, can i play F.E.A.R. with decent graphics in the XP partition or will the integrated graphics hold me back? I was also curious as how much can I save if I install my own RAM and internal hard drive? Is it worth it for the 2 GB of RAM and 120 GB hard drive? Thanks for any help : )

    Really Really old Mac game...?

Ok, this is a little random, but about 6 or so years ago one of my neighbors had what I think was a Mac. I am pretty similar interface, so I am pretty sure it was one of the older Macintoshes. There was this game that I love and I am hoping someone else here knows what I am talking about. Ok, the game had what looked like a hole bunch of pegs with this stick rotating around the pegs. You could press a button to get the stick to jump from one peg to another. It would then start swinging around the new peg. There were objects you had to avoid and some other items you collected to get points. Anyone know what game this is or if I can still download it?

    Switcher

Yeah, my PC is a family computer and I have 2 younger sisters who know nothing about computers. One adaware scan I ran found more than 1000 objects. We have had to reinstall the OS twice now. I am looking forward to switching asap.

    Suggestions on Hardware

Thanks a lot. That was really helpful. Grrr, I don't want to wait any longer, but I am curious if they will replace it soon.... One more thing, how much does adding extra RAM affect the battery life?

    Switcher

My friend told me she had just gotten a Powerbook from a friend. She finally brought it to class and took it out and it was black. I was so confused uintil I realized it was a G3 or before. She was streaming some video in Safari and I was about the same speed as the PC I have now. I was curious so I had her pull up the specs. I just about died crying when I saw it had 512 MB of RAM (double my PC), but it had a 400 Mhz processor. I am not sure how common that is, but it amazed me. Not only was it only 400 mhz, but it was keeping up with my PC! I can't wait to get my mac laptop for college.

    Suggestions on Hardware

I am looking to get a laptop for college and I have decided I definitely want a Mac. I can't decide on which one to get though. I don't use anything extremely intensive, like Photoshop or video editing, but I want it to be quick, especially when running multiple apps. For example, I would like to run Itunes, Iphoto, and Safari with streaming video at the same time and still have quick performance. I have never owned a Mac, so I was hoping to get some help. Would and ibook with 1.5 GB of RAM be enough or do I need something higher end?
