Alright, it's been more than a month now, so I feel I should update this thread. The program still doesn't work. I requested a refund, since I can't even search for videos with longer search terms, but have yet to get a response. Has anyone else purchased the app? What are your thoughts?

Has anyone else tried Tubular yet? The beta was released earlier today for pre-order customers only. Personally, I am not very impressed at this point. There are several flaws that make this app pretty unusable. I would hold off for now on purchasing it if you were considering it, but haven't actually done it. It looks like it'll be a promising application, but at this point it isn't quite ready (as it is in beta) An update: The dev has released multiple updates today trying to fix any major issues that have been encountered. I was worried that it would take time to get any sort of update judging by the amount of time it took to release the first beta version (after promising deadlines that weren't met) But I have to say that he's done a nice job so far. I also sent in my comments about the features that were not working, and I got a nice response from the developer himself several hours later. I think that this will be a really nice application once it has been released.

    Tivo File Transfers to MAC

I have found it to be VERY resource intensive and slow. I have also not had much luck pulling over videos. They are almost always not playable.

    Free alternative to "Tubesock"

Great tip! Unfortunately the only free YouTube download/encode app that I knew of went shareware recently, so this is awesome. I am waiting for Tubular to actually work so I can use it, so until then, I am going to try this out.

    Looking for bluetooth chat client...

It doesn't require an internet connection, simply that they are connected. I Do not know how bluetooth works with pairing between macs, but if you are on the same "network" then bonjour should work. The bonjour account info is available in iChat preferences.

    Looking for bluetooth chat client...

Are the two macs networked? I don't know of one that works with bluetooth, but have you considered using iChat and Bonjour?

    forum clock

I would be willing to be the clock on the server is off for some reason, so the board is off as well. That's something the server admin would need to take a look at.

I am working on some ideas that will help combat this problem. I haven't gotten much done, since I Need to talk with Adam about it, and he's been quite busy with the expo. Hopefully we'll see a decrease in the bots soon!

    Who Buys From MacMall

That's a shame. I took a look at MacMall's return policy on Apple Products, and it is true that they won't take it back. Apple will repair it though, if it is in warranty, so it really isn't a big deal. That's what you get for buying at a discounted price from someone other than a manufacturer, but the product is warranteed. It is nice that apple will swap a monitor with you, but you can't just expect an online retailer to do the same (in my opinion) Online shopping is far different in the level of service than what you get from Apple and their retail stores. I bought an iBook from MacMall a little over a year ago, and haven't had any problems (thank goodness) with my product.

I really think the tradeoff between the MacCast being able to go to the Macworld Expo/Conference and being able to cover it for us daily, thoroughly outweighs the minor advertisement that wasn't annoying at the beginning of the shows from the conference. I think that a small advertisement like the ones found in the MacWorld episodes is a great way to fund the week on the show floor at MacWorld.

MacCast Forum RSS Feeds Have Arrived!

There have been some spam topics that have made their way to the forums, which is how you got those topics in your feed. I apologize for the inappropriate content, and I can tell you that I am working on a new system that will cut down on the spam.

The pre-order is 12.99. At this point, I would not spend the money on it. It just isn't useable at this point. Going to YouTube is so much easier.

Which client type are you using on your Macbook? Console or the application? Also, are you using the multi-processor client? Then we'll know what combo doesn't mix
