  1. The Spice Girls
  2. I have like many others watched this unfold over the past year or so and whilst there has been lots of "recent" debate and condemnation in regards to reporting Jobs health, it is in my opinion "relevant" and "news worthy", you cannot have one foot in the public domain and one foot out. You have to "sell your soul" in the public domain to "sell your product" and nobody does that better than Jobs, not a criticism but a fact. Let the hate begin :|
  3. Team, I am sure all of you saw my letter last week sharing something very personal with the Apple community. Unfortunately, the curiosity over my personal health continues to be a distraction not only for me and my family, but everyone else at Apple as well. In addition, during the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought. In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June. I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple's day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job. As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out. Our board of directors fully supports this plan. I look forward to seeing all of you this summer. Steve Source:Link
  4. So you dont have any Pownce invites?
  5. Also consider buying the "Family Pack", strictly speaking you must all share the same residence but you wont get sent to hell if you are not £17 per person and the price of 5 DVD's.
  6. Hi I am not 100% on this but its my understanding that if you copy your current iTunes library folder (in its entirety) to your new Mac and "Authorise" your new machine you should be golden I have my iTunes library on an external HD that gets passed between 2 macs and works fine when syncing ipods/iphones and the touch. Just one point, you say you have a Touch, did you pay for the upgrade? if so remember to bring that across as it lives within your /library/iTunes/Mobile Applications and not in your iTunes folder and should you need to restore your Touch once you have migrated to the MBP everything will return as per normal.
  7. Very nice pictures, thanks for sharing Wish I could shoot macro that good love the water drops on the gold bg (img 46).
  8. The App store is great and I was happy to see many free and reasonably priced stuff, Remote is outstanding and has the Apple fineness all over it Paid for all the Games Graham mentioned but cant stand Super Monkey as its hard to play even for a seasoned gamer like my son, still the graphics are amazing and few tweaks should make it a must have. I moan a lot about Apple "try to keep some balance and perspective" this is a winner and I hope we will see some new talented indie developers taking on and beating the big boys
  9. For some sad reason we seem to have a split between the iPhone\Touch owners and thats a shame because we are all of an age and intelligence that suggest better. Your points regarding the "pay for updates" are valid, why on earth Apple decided to take this "penny pinching" approach is beyond me also Steve Jobs did not warn customers that they would have to pay for future updates for the Touch at its launch. The excuse for this doesn't stand up either, Steve Jobs stated that the iPhone updates had been "accounted" for so why did they not do the same for the Touch? Its sloppy, dishonest and makes Apple seem greedy.
  10. That the infrastructure is not fit for purpose and given the fact that Apple "by their very own piss taking" (Im a Mac Im a PC) make themselves targets for such criticism and long may that be the case! People in glass houses should not throw stones. The launch has been a mess and given the amount of previous bad press .mac has received would you not agree that Apple should have at least got Mobile Me right? Did I really need to give" a point" for the above comment or are you being obtuse for the sake of it?
  11. Just one question, Why did Apple try and do everything all at the same time? I have learned to lower my expectations but this could only happen once the tin hat had been removed thus allowing logical and sensible thought patterns to enter my "once filled with Steve Jobs bull shit" head. Thought, Microsoft serve just as many customers every working day in more countries.
  12. Have you looked for updates/drivers for your device? If not can you get access to a Windows machine?
  13. Some good suggestions but I don't have any faith in so called "recovery" services, especially the one that offer you your "money back" if your hardware is not recovered, no not for the hardware but for the "failed software". As above; Use a strong password and have your mac lock on sleep/ screensaver, often times I leave my macs switched on. File vault is more trouble than it worth. Should the nightmare happen what about all the data? Take another HDD that at least mirrors the size of your MBP "Back-up" and ask reception to lock it in the hotel safe, this is usual practice and they wont mind. Don't make it easy for the bastards, find a place in your room to hide it if you don't have access to a "good" safe. Also do some research on the area your visiting, many good travel site forums on the interwebs. and........dont forget to have a good time
  14. Yes!! This gives me a great idea for a new desktop, Take 1X poster for "The Manchurian Candidate" and pictures of all the above.........
  15. Firstly don't put to much faith in these utilities they "approximate" and IMHO turn us into crazed compulsives (iStat menu is the child of Satan) Secondly I would completely discharged to battery and charge until full without interruption, whilst many will argue against this and say it has no effect in reality it helps revitalise a "lazy battery".
