Long time since I was here!

Wow. I joined in 2005 and was last active 2007. I remember listening to the MacCast when we were still talking about the new Apple phone with iTunes built in (Motorola Rokr). Forums here look to be pretty bleak. I thought I'd throw this out to anyone that may come across it. I'm looking to start doing Mac Mini colocation. I currently help run a web hosting company where we offer rack mount server colocation and I'd like to give this a shot. If this is something you may be interested in, please comment below!
  2. So I decided to try Vista again after the boot camp update... Originally I had issues with it, then I hoped they would fix it in the update, but still the same. In order to use the Aero theme, I need to dumb down all of the graphics. Otherwise, every few seconds, the screen pauses, goes black, comes back then I get an error about a fatal video driver crash. Are there any other 17" MacBook Pro users running Vista to tell me if they are having the same error or not? My friend has the 15" MBP, and he has no issues, however he has a lower resolution. The graphics card is an ATI Radeo X1600. Everything is 100% up to date. Any ideas?

    Apple Student Training/Certification

Does anyone know of any way to get Apple training or certification for a reduced price being a student? If anyone here has ever received an Apple Certification, can you give me some information on it? (Cost, Difficulty, etc)

    MacBook Pro with Vista

well i checked the driver, and it says it's the WDDM driver, however it's still all messed up.

    MacBook Pro with Vista

haha ok, well i want to keep vista only because it's free (provided through school) and i want to try and get to know the OS. I do IT support a lot and think it would be beneficial to get ahead of the game and learn anything new about vista. also, i've tried un-installing and re-installing the drivers, but no luck.

    MacBook Pro with Vista

So I'm at school and I got a copy of Vista Business up an running on my MacBook Pro, however I'm having one issue. My video drivers seem to have issues with Vista. I have an ATI Radeon X1600 256 MB graphics card, and I went to ATI and downloaded and installed the drivers, however when ever I have the "Windows Vista" theme enabled, the screen blanks every 5-10 seconds, so I've been using the "Classic Theme". Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to fix this? Thanks

    Apple remote pairing/unpairing

    I suppose that's my only choice. :-(

    Apple remote pairing/unpairing

Unfortunately I only have one remote. I suppose I could get rid of my dock and only use the cable, but I bought the dock separately because I liked being able to use it. I know that pairing it with one device doesn't prevent it from being paired with another device, however I wish I knew a way to do that.

    Apple remote pairing/unpairing

So I recently got a MacBook Pro, and it came with an Apple remote. I also have an iPod Dock with Infrared on the front. When I try changing the songs on my MBP, it only connects to the iPod Dock. I'm paired with my MBP though. How can I disable the iPod dock from, in a sense, stealing my connection? If anyone has any tips, that would be awesome. Thanks a lot.

    Advice on apple computers

Personally, I love the 17" MacBook Pro. I got mine and it does everything I could ever imagine. Even though it's 17", it's a bigger laptop, but compared to all other laptops the same size, it's much lighter in weight. I use it everywhere I go. So if you can, spring for that

BT Mighty Mouse not right clicking

So I've had my bluetooth mighty mouse since Christmas, and it's set up for right click to be the secondary button, however just recently it's been giving me issues with right clicking. When ever I try to do it, it doesn't right click. I checked the preferences to make sure that nothing got changed, but it's all correct. Any ideas as to why the sensor would stop working? If I turn the mouse off, then turn it back on, then it begins working again, however otherwise it loses the right click ability. I'd like to not have to turn off the mouse the turn it back on (I know, it's not much, but it's a bit of an annoyance) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

    copy of httpd.conf

Hey, can anyone copy and paste their standard httpd.conf file? I think I may have accidentally edited it and made it un-usable. Apache isn't starting. Thanks a lot!

    iTunes Suggestion?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I really wish Apple would offer more than 30 seconds of a preview for TV Shows. It seems like I watch 30 seconds of it, and I still have no idea what's going on, or those 30 seconds are the beginning credits and I can't see what anything's about. Has anyone else had the same though? I really think it would be more beneficial to have 1 or 2 minutes of the show. When you preview a song for 30 seconds, you're playing about 1/8 of the song which is enough. But with a TV show, you're playing a maximum of 1/60 of the show.
