  1. My iPod shuffle worked fine in my Compaq Presario for about 6 months. Recently however, when I go to plug it in ANY USB port on the machine, Windows XP will not recognize the Shuffle. I get a recurring flashing green light and the deivce won't even mount as a removable disk. The odd thing is that the USB ports work for other devices like a jump drive or a printer. I just tried the Apple Discussions page for iPod SHuffle/Windows. It is flooded with similar problems with XP. It is very frustrating to know that many people are having issues with the Shuffle and Windows XP, and that Apple is sitting back doing nothing to help! Well if anyone is kind enough to help me out that would be great. Thanks.

    What does "damaged software" mean?

No Apple has replaced them twice. They've done almost $1,000 worth of repair. I'm hoping they either fix it for good or get me a new one.

    What does "damaged software" mean?

I did have extra RAM installed, the thing is we took them out, and restarted the computer and the problem still happened. Plus I got the memory from Crucial.com which is supposed to be compatible with my G4. Something's definitely screwed up.

    What does "damaged software" mean?

Yeah the HD is the problem. The weird thing is Apple replaced the HD (twice), as well as the mother board, and the problem is still persisting. Just wondering if it was the software I installed, but taking a shot in the dark. Me and the genius' are stumped.

    What does "damaged software" mean?

Hello, I was wondering what exactly is "damaged software?" Is it software which has accumulated corrupt files? Or could it be from an install disk that is scratched up? THe reason why I am asking is because, I've had issues with my G4 ranging from not seeing my harddrive to kernal panics. While all signs point to hardware problems, I am just wondering if "damaged software" could play a part in the error.

Limewire on HD to get serviced? Problem?

right...No music, movies, photos...just the app that I used to get three radio programs which aren't for sale or under RIAA regs.

Limewire on HD to get serviced? Problem?

but those are images such as pornography...what about only having a P2P program. Those aren't illegal

Limewire on HD to get serviced? Problem?

Yeah, the main concern is because the Ap is in the dock. I did use it to get three episodes of a radio program, but not copyrighted music etc....
  10. Hello, I recently had to take my computer into the Apple store to get serviced. I am concerned as the program Limewire is on my computer. I have not downloaded any music, movies, or programs since installing, and don't intend to. So will I get reported for having installed Limewire on my drive, even though I don't use it to dowload media?
  11. Hello, I recently had the Apple genious' service my G4 after I found out that there was a problem with my main drive. They replaced the hard drive...BUT when I took the machine home all I saw was a gray screen. I figured they forgot to install the OS, but after booting from the startup up, I noticed that the computer would not read the drive they installed. After restarting the machine about 10 times, it eventually recognized the drive and I installed the OS figuring everything was fine. HOWEVER this morning I go to turn on the machine and all I saw was the gray screen. The computer was once again not reconizing the drive. So the same thing happened, and I eventually got it to recogize the drive after multiple start ups. But then after work...gray screen. Can anyone give me an idea why this happens. Apple Care hotline and the Apple Store are unfortunately closed. Anyone have an idea of what to do?
  12. Hello, I am a Mac user however my girlfriend has a computer with Window XP. She's had an iPod Shuffle and it worked great for six months, however recently her computer no longer recogizes the iPod when it is plugged into the USB. The green light in the front of the iPod just flashes and it doesn't even show as a drive on the My Computer screen. I've never had any problems with my iPod, but there see many regarding Windows XP. If someone could help me that would be very much appreciated! Thanks
