  1. This was happening in Tiger right before I installed Leopard. Still happening in Leo. The PB is fine on AC power, but the moment I pull the cord, or start it up on battery it either panics or freezes about one minute after log in. Here is the crash report: Tue Nov 13 23:12:18 2007 Unresolved kernel trap(cpu 0): 0x300 - Data access DAR=0x0000000055602290 PC=0x00000000000AA738 Latest crash info for cpu 0: Exception state (sv=0x3680b280) PC=0x000AA738; MSR=0x00001030; DAR=0x55602290; DSISR=0x40000000; LR=0x000AA684; R1=0x2CF7BE80; XCP=0x0000000C (0x300 - Data access) Backtrace: 0x00024A84 0x000B264C 0x65676572 Proceeding back via exception chain: Exception state (sv=0x3680b280) previously dumped as "Latest" state. skipping... Steve says: "iPhone and iTouch SDK in February '08."

Goodbye, Verizon... Just what I needed to hear.... I bet the price will be dropped by then too! =)

    Apple Tv

You'd think so wouldn't you. But in essence, whatever you do on your Mac and iPod will translate if you have them synced.
  4. With the slew of updates today for all Macs, iPhones, iWork, and not to mention last weeks iPod, and iLife updates, I was getting excited that just maybe our lil Apple TVs that we love so much might be getting a shot in the arm... Apparently not! I mean the last update was great with YouTube, but theres gotta be some improvements down the road, right? Unless they jump straight into gen 2 (I think it'll be "AppleHD"), which I would cry over... Anyway, what would you like to see in an update for the little hotplate? Me personally: * UI additions like better photo app (thumbnails!?), coverflow??? * iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store (which seems like a no brainer!) * Games from the iTunes store I mean think about the halo effect with the iPod and iPhone. Surely theres a few people that the Apple TV is there only Apple product. You'd think more from Apple in the Apple TV may prompt these people to embrace Macs more. It happened to me with the 5th gen iPod. They could be missing a great oppurtunity for switchers...

Give me few good reason to buy Apple TV

I don't think I could sum it up better. That is pretty much how I use (and love) my Apple TV. All my music, photos, (a hand full of movies) and podcasts are up to date and synced. Just in case my iMac is on the fritz, I have all that content hooked up and ready. Though the real beauty is seemless streaming of anything in iTunes. Having my music on my 5.1 system ready to go is really handy and I listen to my music probably twice as much. I used to hook up my 5th gen iPod, but it's a better experience now.

    Apple store is down...

Prepping for Leopard? New Macbook Nano/Mini? I wish!
  7. Was this already known that nearly half of the new Mac population be out of luck with EA's releases? Cider must really need those GPUs... http://macnewbtube.wordpress.com/2007/09/1...w-games-on-mac/
  8. Really want to get a new 20" iMac, yet my father-in-law is biding his time till he purchases my last gen iMac (I don't mind, really). Do you think we'll see any of the new aluminum iMacs refurb before the Holidays? It took about two months for iPhone refurbs to show up right?

    Aluminum Keyboard Update

If your having trouble with your new keyboard, make sure to check out Keyboard Update 1.2. I brought this keyboard home today and it was not working right at all with my last gen (still hurts to type that) white iMac. 1.2 seems to have fixed every issue I had! http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/key...reupdate12.html

    iPod touch hidden App?

Ouch... no not really, though I am trying to get somewhat of a base, and it's going great! (5000+ strong). I will relax it a bit though if its that much of a bother...

    iPod touch hidden App?

Yet another speculation about Apple next big thing. It happened with the iPhone! http://macnewbtube.wordpress.com/2007/09/1...uch-hidden-app/

How soon do iMac refurbs show up?

You don't think they'd deplete their last gen iMac line first? I guess not, there were alot of Powerbooks still on Apple.com at teh beginning of teh summer.

Connecting Apple TV with ethernet and wifi

I do this with my Powerbook so it doesn't drop my "n" network to "g". Make sure you go into System Pref > Network. In the second drop down menu "Show:", choose "Network Port Configurations". Then make sure that "Built-in Ethernet" is checked. Now change that same drop down menu to "Network Status" and you should have a green dot and info about your connection. You might have to also go into "Built-in Ethernet" in the same drop down to check your IP adress, HDCP configurations, etc... Good luck!

    iPod touch available now?

Yup, it's true. I called my "local" store (about two hours away) and they confirmed limited shipments of 16GB only today. Give them a call and ask, (503) 603-9800 We reported this early today on The Mac Newb Tube. http://macnewbtube.wordpress.com/2007/09/1...ut-in-the-wild/ Review iPod touch coming soon, as soon as Jobs releases details on our iPhones refund!

    iTunes becomes iRentals!?

Checc it out on my blog... in it's infancy! http://macnewbtube.wordpress.com/
  17. Would make a logical next step for Apple! Mentioned on my Mac blog. http://macnewbtube.wordpress.com/2007/09/09/18/

    iBook G3 top closing problem

I had to do a quick fix to my Powerbook because of this problem. I had to bend the hooks towards the keyboard, I guess over time they stop catching. It finally closes again! Do it slowly, and very carfully, though I had to bend it quite abit to catch again. Hope this helps.

Boo Boo in iPhone synching video

Just another great "Ad 2.0" scheme by Apple! I believe they are going to be the pioneers of this new wave of Ads. The iphone "twelve icon" that "slipped" then disapeared. The "flash" NYTimes web page speculation in Ad. Etc... There's not one second of an official iPhone ad/video/picture that Steve himself doesn't scrutinize. He himself has said that this is Apple's biggest release. Can anyone else think of anymore examples of these "slip ups". I think the general mac community (and media coverage) takes such note of every move (iPhone covered displays in stores, anyone?), that Apple fuels the fire!

NICE! I have found anbother cool tweak, though it requires ShapeShifter. It's called Liger, and it makes the menu bar REALLY look like 10.5. It costs $$$ tho. =D

Keen eye =D. I'm trying to get the guy who did the dock to add them to two other 10.5 wallpapers! Yay! =) Pics of your new Leo desktop?

Wallpaper is here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=313574 and it actually has the dock within the wallpaper. Kinda of an optical illusion (I think it looks great, till we have the real thing!). You'll have to search for the right sized dock for for your icons. Oh and you'll have to get an app called ClearDock to remove the "real" dock. Nice app. Transluscent menubar is handle by MenuShade at Nullriver.com. Another great little app. App launcher is Todos at OpenSoft: http://www.dbachrach.com/opensoft/index.php?page=Todos. Another POWERFUL little app that lets me see all my apps. My theme is, surprise, OS X theme that came with my iMac! =D I just swap out icons here and there to fit my mood and serve my memory right. Apps like Menushade, Handbrake, Todos, etc have had there icons change in dock (for aesthetics). Goodluck and have fun! =D

Here's my desktop fow now... till I have the real cat of course: It'll probably be this way until there are more Leopard wallpapers leaked.
  24. Reminds me of the blurry slider bar in iTunes with Coverflow... Not sure what it's from... I haven't updated to Security Update 005, so that couldn't be the deal. Running 10.4.9. Just happened while updating podcasts. It's the "Selected Items" and "Now Playing" in the artwork viewer, lower-left corner. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/246/5141746...f8f00ca47_b.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/200/5141746...21b623a27_b.jpg
