What time is best?

Recommended Posts

As Adam normally says there is no "best time" to get your mac, but my question is..

Should i get my MacBook Now (Ready for christmas) or should i wait until after (After hearing rumors of leopard being released)??

Now. Leopard is due for release in the Spring, I really don't see it at MacWorld or anything and at the end of the day it costs 10 minutes and $100 to upgrade. Not a problem.

Do you need your machine now or can you wait?

In the last few years waiting for Q1 has been a good strategy, but that doesn't mean its good for you.

Ultimately, it's up to you, but...

The Intel "roadmap" indicates that Core 2 is the most we can expect for a while (maybe something "new" late 2007, more likely 2008).

The Apple software history would indicate iLife '07 in Q1 07.

Leopard released either Q1 or Q2 2007.

That's my take on the future, but we have to work out our own best strategy.

I can't see a good reason to wait now. They've just been updated with the latest and greatest. Even when the next CPU comes out the MBP will get it first, then we'll have to wait a little while before the MacBooks get it, and by that time another rumor is out and everything starts over again.

The best time to buy is a month or two after a major update.

So basically the majority think its best to buy ASAP? The reason is.. i dont want to get it and then 2 weeks into having it, leopard or new processers come out and make me think oh ****!
