Got an AirPort card for my G4 PowerMac.......now what?

Recommended Posts

I just got an airport card for my Quicksilver(2002) PowerMacG4.

I installed it. Now.......there is software for this right? I am assuming I need the airport software to set it up correctly.

If I run software update will it recognize it and know I need to download the software, or do I have to get it manually.

Also....what is the current version of the software.

I looked on the Apple website and couldn't find what the current version might be.

Thanks for any help you can give me

i thought it was kindof plug and play.. isnt the software built into the os? when you go to network preferences does the airport show up and can you change the settings there? and also, in system profiler, does the system actually recognize the card is there?

Airport utility is for airport express and extreme base stations. Open up the network utility to make sure it's recognised, then download the latest airport updates (or just install 10.4.9). Other than that, there's a problem that won't be covered by software methinks.
