How is it not letting you repair you disk? Is the button grayed out? Are there problems it cannot fix? Any more information you can give will help us help you.

i can hit the disk repair button and it starts but it receives an error and stops. i can't remember the error at the moment but when i get a chance i will boot back up with the disk and this time write down the error.

Depending on what the error is you may want to consider a third party drive utility such as Disk Warrior. Just something to consider.

I have both Disk Warrior and Drive Genius as sometimes, one will work and the other won't.

Disk Utility can't be used to Repair your boot drive, though. You need to boot from an external or your system disk.

The Guy Said he was using His INSTALL DISK (Which is not the boot drive!)

If Disk Utility can't fix it, then it's time for the big guns. I use Disk Warrior constantly in the field, as in several times a day. Can't recommend enough. There's only a few things it can't solve, like overlapped files, but in that case backing up and reformatting is the safest bet anyway.
