Are there any good free apps like Daemon Tools/PowerISO for the Mac? I have boot camp and so I could just boot into Windows and use one of those but I would prefer to use Mac OS X.

The finder can mount ISOs on it's own. Depends on what you want to do with them? Those apps do quite a bit...

You can also use disk utility to burn bootable disk images:

1) Mount the image by double clicking on its image (file that ends in .iso/.toast)

2) Open disk Utility (found in applications>utilities)

3) In the left hand column click on the image you want to burn and then click the burn icon in the top left hand corner and follow the onscreen instructions.

Yeah, disk utility works for a few image formats, but there are quite a few that it doesn't support.

Really the main purpose of apps like that on the PC are for mounting a creating images, and Finder and Disk Utility support this anyway.

If you aren't having any luck with disk utility you could try your luck with Disco
