Word on Mac and images

Recommended Posts

Lately I've been producing a list of new releases for my electronics department over in Wal-Mart. I started making and printing out the sheets because not everyone has a firm grip on the pulse that is entertainment. Is there a way that I can add images to the side of a Word document without this large gap being created by the image? The end result I'm aiming for is like this: http://www.darkhorizons.com/dvdreleases2.php

If you are using Word for doing this then I find the best way to layout images and text is within Tables, you can then set the Cell alignment and padding to suit your needs.

see if this doesn't work better than word. http://www.scribus.net/ I have never used it but I would imagine any kind of page layout software has to be better than using word. These days I usually even type simple things in Indesign, I just hate word.

I'm a recent pages convert (I got fed up with the crapfest that is office taking so long to start on my pretty quick mac), but I'd give the free solution from Josh a go before you sink money into iWork (although you won't regret it).

I'm with Joshr on this one! Scribus is awesome, and the best part is that it's free! I've used it with Linux, and I've created several user guides and newsletters with it. But I haven't used it in the OS X environment. But I'm sure you'll get professional looking results just as well. There's even a tutorial that'll help learn the application quickly.
