Moving entire library from iPod to iTunes

Recommended Posts

I reformatted my computer and now my iTunes library is messed up because I had music all over my drive and iTunes is giving me a bunch of "exclamation points" in front of many of my songs.

The library that is on my iPod is perfect, and exactly what I want on my computer.

I would like to start a brand new library on my iMac that is exactly the same as the library on my iPod.

What applications can I use to do this?

I can use both Mac and Windows applications.

Thanks!

I second Senuti. Doesn't work with the new iPods / iPhone though apparently.

OK.

I moved all of my music, but would like to move my playlists also. The program worked perfectly for moving my music, thanks!

Can I do this from senuti?

Playlists Senuti not only reads the playlists that you made on your iPod, but it allows you to transfer them back to your computer as well. A simple drag and drop action within the application will not only copy songs to your computer and and add them to iTunes, but it will make a new playlist with the same name and add all of the songs to that list.
