Hide Time Machine on Desktop?

Recommended Posts

Is there any way to hide just the Time Machine drive/volume from my desktop? I can hide all external drives, but I don't want that. I can also hide just the Time Machine volume from my sidebar (dragging it off). I just don't know of a way (or if you even can), selectively hide an external drive/volume from the desktop. (And the Time Machine drive is really just a regular drive, but it has a different icon)

you could try to use macmounter to mount the drive at a non-default location. usually mounted at /Volumes/drivename. i believe people do this when they want to use a separate drive/partition for their user folder or movies folder or something. just an idea, there might be an easier way though.
