i'd like the ability to record calls. yes, i know it's illegal in some areas but, where i live (mn) it is legal.

I am interested in a lot of things that I hope Apple will add on their own (notes/todo syncing, integration with MS exchange servers, IM, etc). Depending on what Apple provides and when, I think some 3rd party apps might be needed to fill in the gaps. Additionally, some apps for personal productivity (GTD tools such as iGTD or OmniFocus for iPhone would be really nice)

how about a KisMac for the Iphone, to use some secure wireless networks, not that apple will endorse that?

If you Jailbreak your iPhone you can use a few different apps for this. My favorite to date is iFlickr. Simply take a pic and it will automatically upload it to your Flickr stream.

I'd say... like a book program... so you could read on your touch or iphone

Also i'd want podcasts, and a digg app

I have no problems getting podcasts to the iPhone via iTunes. There is even an option to select "synch podcasts" in iTunes.

Here's an obvious. How about a way to load files and at least view them. I would love to load some PDFs I have. Then I want to be able to pull them up for viewing or emailing.

Flash would be nice too. Never realized how many sites use it.

Jailbreak your phone and you can have all of them today via AppTap.

I've tried several games (not a big gamer) and I have many useful apps on my phone. They range from a terminal app to apps that allow you to customize the GUI (buttons, etc.) to a PDF viewer to caller id maintenance tools. The third party community is plugging away at full steam and doing an impressive job. Bummer is that if you play by Apple / ATT rules you're blind to the goodness of the iPhone. Take heart, January will liberate the iPhone. I just couldn't wait that long.

Those interested should peruse modmyiphone.com

A PDF viewer has been created by the third party community. It's a little more work than one would expect but it works. Again, jailbreaking the phone is the key.
