it makes the site take longer to load. those with slower internet dont need the extra stuff to load, when it is not needed.

actually, it will only download the picture once, since it's linking from the same place.

Here is my current desktop.

That's a cool lookin' wallpaper and icons you got there :) Oh, and I think you should get the "largest dock" award (at least for these forums so far)

I put everything in the dock, because I use magnification and auto hide.

The file name on the wallpaper is "00247_midnightfractals_1600x1200.jpg". I forget where I got it, but a Google search led me to this site that I had not seen before. http://www.peschybear.be/thumbnails.php?album=5&page=14 - This is not where i got it from but they have it and some other nice ones too. I have a lot of wallpapers because I change them very often. Icons are from Icon Factory (StarWars icons, To the Moon, TotemPole Mac and Aliens) - http://iconfactory.com/

If only they had the desktop pictures in 1280x800.....the smallest size is 1280x1024..and it's a little too big :-(

I know it's not the same and distorts the picture a little, but you could select either "Fill Screen" or "Stretch to Fill Screen" in the "Change Desktop Background" preference pane.

SkippyChalmers: I really like the wave on the beach wallpaper and the night shot of the docks :)
