SOLVED Connecting XBOX 360 on the internet through wireless sharing (Mac Mini)

My Mac Mini (G4, running Leopard) serves as a wireless hotspot for the rest of the house. It is connecting to my cable modem with an ethernet cable.

I just checked the "Internet sharing" option in the System Preference pane.

EVERYTHING connects with no problem whatsoever (my Macbook Pro, Wii, iPod Touch, iPhone, 2 PC laptops, whatever my friends will bring home...), they just select the wireless network and they are on the internet.

My XBOX as a wireless adapter on it. It just won't connect to the wireless network...

When I try searching for a solution I always end up with ways to use a mac as a wireless adapter, which is not what I am trying to do.

Any ideas?

I've been reading old threads on the net hoping to find something I might have missed last time I tried that and stumbled upon this:

So I was trying to figure out how to connect my xbox to a router across the room and I realized that my brother already had a wireless dongle for the xbox. So I decided to try internet sharing.

It's actually very simple.

1. Turn on internet sharing (system preferences>sharing)

2. Select to share connection from ethernet to airport

3. go to airport options and under tcp/ip change to manual and input these numbers instead

Subnet Mask =

4. Open the network preferences on the xbox

5. connect to the wireless (if you made a password you'll have to enter it)

6. change the IP setup to manual and put them in this order

IP =

subnet =

Gateway =

then Change the DNS to

Primary =

Secondary =

And then you should be all set to connect. It works pretty well and now you can also use your ipad, Iphone or Ipod touch without having to purchase a wireless router.

Peace all, Enjoy

Seems to work so far! :)
