John Bowdler 40 Posted April 27, 2013 I need to upgrade my mid-2007 iMac. Should I get, say, the one terabit iMac and a 2TB external drive for backup – or a 3TB iMac? Which is better, internal or external? (I already have an (ageing) 1TB time capsule). Ta!
johnfoster 49 Posted April 27, 2013 you can NEVER have enough storage.
John Bowdler 40 Posted May 6, 2013 Great response, John. Does this imply internal storage, external – or both! I was thinking of getting a smaller internal drive and then building up a series of external drives, buying a new one every year or so. So, when the oldest one dies I’ve newer ones to take over. Does this sound a good way to go?
johnfoster 49 Posted May 6, 2013 that is essentially what I do.
Chefpyro116 1 Posted March 1, 2014 WD just released their My Cloud external hard drive. There's 2TB, 3, and a 4TB option. It works as a NAS and that could be an option. The 2 TB starts at $149 at Best Buy. Just a thought.
