Deleting an iPod from iTunes?

Recommended Posts

Mac Geeks,

I recently successfully migrated my 20+GB iTunes library from my WinXP machine to my new iBook -- ratings, playlists, and all! Yesterday, when I plugged my wife's iPod into the iBook to charge it, the iPod began sinking. I expected at least for the iBook to ask "This iPod is sinked to another machine. Do you wish to overwrite," or whatever that message is....

I have two questions:

1) does my iBook recognize the iPod because I copied the iTunes library and playlists, etc, from the WinXP machine to the iBook?

2) is it possible to delete the iPod from the iBook?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Extra Info: I had just synced my iPod, before connecting my wife's iPod.

Yes.

It doesn't quite work like that I don't think... the iPod remembers which library is last synced with, not the computer.

I think you would need to first build a new library, or associate the iPod with another library, and then iTunes should start giving you the prompt you described.
