"Open at login" on Finder contextual menu?

Recommended Posts

There must be a shortcut key for this?

When you drag a removable drive or disk image to the right side of the dock divider to permanently fix it there, the right click menu displays a "Open at login" menu, which adds the device to the Login Items listing in the current users Account.

But I don't want the device in the dock I want it on the desktop and manually adding it in the Accounts control panel is a cumbersome work around.

Is there a Terminal command line hack for revealing the "Open at Login" contextual menu item so it's visible across the whole Finder?

I belive if you take it out of the dock, it will open at login.

yep, it works

basically, if you want it to be opened at login without it in the dock, it works like this:

1. drag it into the dock

2. click "open at login" in the contextual menu

3. drag it out of the dock

Sorry. I should have been clearer. I know you can do it like that. But I want the "Open at Login" menu item to be available right across the Finder.

So, for example, if I want a particular app or script to run at log in I can just Right Click > Open at login from the Finder context menu.

Thanks again.
