Here's my current screen...it's set to change every 30 min. though. Current resolution 1680x1050, so obviously had to shrink this image.

Danny,

Would you mind scaling down that image a little?

Don't know why the background is purple, in real-life it's blue....

I don't really understand why people have background images - I prefer to have a plain colour like yours (usually a nice sky blue). It's a waste of resources IMHO ;)

I like having background images of photos I take when I travel. It's personalized because I've been there. :)

the real waste of system resources is if you set it to autorotate the picture every 5 seconds (with a transition!)

This at the same time I was exporting a video from Final Cut was the only time I've ever had my Mac crash.

So Auto-rotate seems like a bad idea.

Well, I don't have a mac. But I really want one. Well I am so into apple computers that I downloaded programs to make my pc look like an apple. Well here is what my desktop looks like when running at full capacity. I do have widgets as well.

audi9k proably has the best pic. And no, it's not E3 2006 [That's next May]

EckTheTech:

Wow, when I had a PC i tried something called Windows Blinds to try and make it look like a mac-- it was just really messed up.

What do you use? It looks like it really works. -- I have a PC friend that would love that.

Thanks!

~mkp

PS- I've never heard of someone making their Mac desktop look like a PC one :P

go to www.imageshack.us

click browse and find the picture you want.

Then host it, and copy the thumbnail for forum and paste it in a post on any forum.

Seriously, Image Shack sucks. Your best bets are either Flickr (Click on the link "All Sizes" above your image, then choose your size and copy the text in the TOP text field below the image and paste this into your message on these forums enclosed in the image tags as described below) or Fotki (highly recommended for image storing and hosting if not social sharing.

Personally, when I put an image up on this forum I use Fotki, it is the best I have found after extensive research. Just sign up for a free account, add a photo and then click share underneath the photo, copy the text and paste this into your message on these forums enclosed in the image tags as described below.

The image tags are fairly simple BBCode:
