How do I change a wireless password and have it save on rebo

Recommended Posts

Hi Gurus,

I have changed the password on my wireless network (but not the SSID). Every time I boot I have to re-enter the new key to be able to connect to the network. How do I get the new key to save on reboot?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

There should be a check-box on the password prompt screen related to saving the password in the Keychain.

If that's not working for you, you might try opening the Keychain Access utility (in your Applicatinns/Utilities folder), locating the old "Airport network password" (under "Kind" col) and deleting it, in the hopes that will encourage storing the new one instead.

If that still doesn't work, you might try using "Keychain First Aid" from the Keycain Access Utility's Keychain Access menu.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up deleting the entry in the Keychain Access utility then logging onto the network and the new password was saved to the keychain.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Much appreciated,

Greg
