the DIY PC...

Recommended Posts

i want to build my own PC for media center options, i found a good case from www.geek.com for 29.99 with PSU and it takes all forms of ATX but i want a ATX mother board with a socket 754 and support for this type of video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...82E16815116620l and also which would be a good Hd interface for more gigabyte per dollar?

P.S. thank you CFsporn and Goatman for helping me with this.

1 You are very welcome. I have been trapped on the PC side of things for a while and I love to share my knowlage.

2 Please get a socket 939 MOBO and an inexpensive socket 939 chip. You will get much better proformance.

3 I don't see a graphics card in that list.

Then I would spend a bit extra on a processor and MOBO.

i have to say buying a 754 is a mistake as AMD have already released early details of the M2 socket so that make the 754 already quite old technology, 939 is worth the cost for future proofing

The category description doesn't specifically state Apple hardware, so I think it is alright. :D

I would get the ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe. It costs a bit more than your avrage 939 MOBO, but it is worth it.
