shaiboyuk 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Hi All, Got a problem that i've had for a wee while, now its time to find a fix  Had this problem with my old install of Mac OS Tiger 10.4.5 and getting it again in this new install. Sometimes the minimize option at the top left of windows (yellow dot) will disappear. See: i dunno why. I try going into the Window menu and select Minmize, but this doesn't work either. This happens in Sadari, Entourage and other apps. I'll use the hot corners to get to another app, then a wee while later the minimize option will come back. anyone have any idea why? and how to fix it? The Professor 0 Posted March 18, 2006 What happens if you login as a different user? Hi, I only have one user setup. Cheers Shaiboy_UK If you create another user you may find this problem does not affect that account. This could be a first step in resolving the issue. shaiboyuk 0 Posted March 18, 2006 If you create another user you may find this problem does not affect that account. This could be a first step in resolving the issue. As i've already said, it was like this on the old install, and has since be reinstalled! So making another account isn't going to fix it! The Professor 0 Posted March 18, 2006 As i've already said, it was like this on the old install, and has since be reinstalled! So making another account isn't going to fix it! Depending on the method that was used to reinstall Tiger, I believe it is possible that creating a new account may yet shed light on this problem. With the archive & install method user account information is preserved. My limited understanding suggests to me that some corrupted configuration detail could have survived an archive reinstall. It is easy to create another user account. I always create at least two accounts on any computer of mine, regardless of the operating system. Then I reserve the additional account for emergency or diagnostic problems. I consider this to be a Best Practice.

Milan 0 Posted March 19, 2006 I had this problem a few times. Restarting the Finder (or the app it occured in) always solved the issue. ~milan
