iPod acting all screwy.

Recommended Posts

My iPod won't boot (it gives me the folder with the ! sign), and it won't mount. It is acting very wrong. Thanks.

You could use the iPod software updater to restore it, in Applications--> Utilities--> iPod Software Updater.

It does not show up there.

I ment the iPod does not show up in the updater. It says that I did not have my iPod plugged in.

Well the guy at the Apple store gave me his chilling ultimatium. The HD is hosed. Does anybody have a hard drive that would work in a 4.5 G iPod? (The iPod Photo.)

I might do the same. Rip it apart and sell it on ebay.

Are you plugging in your iPod via Firewire? I had trouble getting the restore app to see the iPod if it was plugged in with Firewire; however, USB had no trouble!

Have you tried testing you iPod in Diagnostic Mode? You might be able to track down exactly what is wrong with it...
