Using Canon EOS 5D for cycling photos

Recommended Posts

I received a Canon EOS 5D as an early 149th birthday gift this past week. Yesterday I took it out for a photo shoot.

The Breathless Agony Ride is a southern California cycling event. The longest of the routes that riders may choose involves 111 miles of cycling and 12,000 feet of climbing in the San Bernardino mountains. My partner was riding for the third year while I was snapping photos.

I took nearly 2,000 photos and kept 1,464 of them. You can see the results here.

I am extremely pleased with this camera, especially with it's unique ability to identify a person being tracked while panning and focus right on them.

It's all good.

EDITED: That's 111 miles of cycling

I only looked at the first page. You have some nice brokeh going on. What lens are you using? You might consider adding a link for a page of you favorites since it's a tad uninteresting to look at 1500 pictures when it's not anyone you know. I am more interested in seeing what you consider the top shots.
