How do you chose to launch your apps? I am a bit of most of the options. Sometimes I use QuickSilver, sometimes I use Finder, sometimes I use Spotlight, sometimes I use the Dock, and when I want to get really geeky I use the Terminal / X11.

I find myself using the dock and Quicksilver the most. I have to say I have been using Quicksilver more than the dock lately.

I use the dock for my few most frequently used (viz. never closed) apps; Mail, Safari, iChat, iTunes and System Preferences. Everything else I launch from Spotlight, even if it is regularly.

I have been launching from Terminal a lot lately but that was for testing purposes.

I use the Dock for frequently used stuff, and I keep a link to the Applications and Utilities folder in the dock so I can click-hold on them and get a pop-up menu of their contents.

I use the dock and I also have an application folder shortcut for when I need other stuff.

If it isn't already on my Dock, I use QuickSilver.

What, you didn't include Butler in the list? It's one of the best launchers out there, and that's what I use.

It is probably the best program launcher out there. There are others, yes, but it is the best one that I personally have found so far. I know that other people will have a different opinion. This is just mine... one of the many. :)

QuickSilver is more than just an app launcher, however. You can do all kinds of things with it. In three keystrokes, I can gather up a bunch of images from a folder on my drive, upload them to Flickr and have it tag them for me. Sweet stuff.

I'm going to have to take another look at QuickSilver. I didn't really get it the first time I tried it. Perhaps I need to spend a little more time digging into it.

control>spacebar i live and die for. I honestly do not really know what else i can do with quicksilver but just launching applications is the greatest.

its totally weird when i am on my windows machine or someone else mac and i try to do my shortcut and nothing happens.

Quicksilver Rocks

The same thing happened to me. At first I did not like Quicksilver, then I learned how to use it and LOVED it.

When I first log in, I launch some staple apps (such as Mail, iChat, Safari) from the dock. Just about everything else I launch with Spotlight. Before the Spotlight fix around 10.4.3, I used QuickSilver.

I'm not sure when it was exactly, but in one of the OS updates they made Spotlight "more responsive"

My friends were mean to me. They wouldn't tell me it was called QuickSilver. I saw that program 5.5 months ago and they said it was called "Sysaccess"

I should also mention that Mail is launched at startup as a login item.

You keep on saying that your friends keep on being mean to you. Which begs the question, WHY THE HELL ARE THEY STILL YOUR FRIENDS!

So if some one were to talk to you for a long period of time they automatically become your firend? if they tell you to play in the street do you do it? I would tell them to burn in *** and to go ** themselves.
