Okay, here's another vote for "no preference;" however, this time I voted "yes." Although I only listen to maybe 1 in 10 songs at the end of the show (it totally depends on how Adam sells the song and the type of music), I think this is a nice way to expose people to music that isn't owned by a big corporate giant.

I started listening to J Coulton because he allows his music to be attached to podcasts.

Other people do enjoy the podsafe music, so I voted yes. It does me no harm, and it is easy to not listen to it.

Id rather not have music at the end of the show. I've been listening for over a year now and have only liked the two Mac related songs you played. It may be cruel, but I don't even give the music a chance to play now, I just pass it (and the promos) right by.

Music doens't need to be at teh end of every show. Only when you really like the song and think the band needs to be heard. This is afterall a show about the Mac and not music.

Saying, that though, I'll just continue to skip over it if it stays. These are minor quibbles in an otherwise fantastic show.

I added the "no preference" option. Good idea. Sorry it may be too late for some of you.

My personal take on it is that I like it. I don't listen to every one, I don't like every one I listen to. I do however appreciate them all. I kinda see it as a finger in the eye of the music industry when people make music themselves, under CC licenses and then actually make money from it, or even just produce some better stuff than major labels.

Much like podcasting I see it as the revolution that could carry some weight right now and I think it's good to support that. I also think it's indirectly related to Macs in that Mac users often pioneer such things (most podcasting, pod-safe music, CC licensed media content etc. is made by Mac users in my experience). I think it's great and I vote for it to stay.

Definitely keep the music! It is truly a great touch, and it's conveniently and unobtrusively placed at the end for those who choose to skip it. I see it as a classy signature (icing, if you will) that distinguishes the maccast from the myriad Apple-related podcasts (of which the maccast already stands out as the very best).

It is good, because if you dont want to listen to the music, then simply don't listen, I mean, what's the big deal. Just close the Window or something if you don't want to listen. Those who wish to listen to the music just keep the thing playin'

For me the music is a significant part of the MacCast

I have personally picked up on a good dozen bands/artists that I would otherwise never have heard of and followed up my interest by downloading further tracks from iTunes or elsewhere.

Keep the Mac stuff, keep the music, keep the promos, there's room for it all, isn't there?

like i sed earlier its your podcast if you like the way it is and if its working which it obvisouly is then why change something that works. i dont always like the music but every now and then you get a jem like code monkey or not on the radio. we should help each other out word of mouth is the greatest way of promotion i for one am going to support it at all costs.

changing the maccast would be like apple going to windows and i for one will not stand by and see that happen.

I've yet to hear a song that I really liked at the end of the MacCast. Having said that, it doesn't bother me that it's there and it's easily passed by, so count me as a No Preference. Do what you will. I won't be bothered either way.

Lets keep the web and maccast a kind supportive sharing place for as long as possible. I'm sure Adam had a lot of help getting to the dizzying heights of podcast superstardom and I think it's great that he donates some bandwith to newbies and underexsposed bands. I'm am still kinda bemused at how much my life has been enriched by the podcast community. Thanks for all your hard work work Adam. Long may it continue.

It's completly up to you as far as I'm concerned. If I like the music I'll listen and if I don't I won't, simple as.

Whatever you do I'll keep listening as it's the best Mac info show on the web.

Yeah you should definitely keep the music at the end, I've heard some nice songs on there that I definitely like, and if I don't like it, I'll skip it no problem.

I really enjoy the new music at the end of the show. If it's something I don't like, I fast forward through it, no problem.

A yes for me - More often then not I do not like the featured band however between the 50 some odd episodes i've listened to I must have found at least 5 or 6 bands who's cd's i've actually purchased and have even gone to one of the bands shows - And even the stuff that I dont like is pretty good, it's just not my style of music...

I voted Yes, but you might consider a compromise of fading out the song after a minute or two -- with a link to the full song in the Enhanced version and the show notes.
