BootCamp XP Keybaord remapping

Recommended Posts

Just got this tip from listener Brent via email:

Hey, I just heard your show for the first time today, I enjoyed it.  I just thought you would like to know about another remapping tool called the Input Remapper (found at http://www.olofsson.info/ ).  I use it in connection with the resource kit you mentioned on the show.  It is really great for anyone using XP on a MacBook Pro (though also quite useful for anyone running XP with an Apple keyboard).  It enables things like fn-delete for a delete key, fn-click for right click, control of the brightness/sound using fn + F-keys, pg up, pg dn, etc.  You can even create your own multi-key remappings.  For exampele, now when I push cmd-q, it closes a program, and when I push cmd-left, my browser goes back, and F11 is the "show desktop" feature, just like in OS X.  Check it out, it really is a great program.  Now I just wish the creator would let us donate something for it, but he insists it's just free.
