iWeb in Italian

Recommended Posts

I was in Italy when iWeb and the whole new iLife suite came out. After returning home as a treat to myself I ran out and bought it the next day. Loading the new suite went fine and everything seemed normal. Then I realized I hadn't chnage my location in the System Preferences. It was awhile before I used iWeb. Now when I open a new page the example text is in Italian. Anyone else have this? I'm wondering if I just need to trash iWeb and reload it or if more is needed to be done. It's no big deal but kind of annoying.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone got any ideas? I have trashed the preference file, the app and done a reload. Same result. Example text in Italian. I know it's no big deal but it's kind of annoying. Confuses the heck out fo the family too.

I trashed iWeb and anything associated with iWeb that Spotlight could find and then reloaded it. Same result. My example text is still Italian.

BTW is anyone sure where Apple hides these site and files after you create them. I have built a little bit and would like to save them or at least try to. I can't seem to find where Apple stashes them.

Thanks.

The sample text is always in latin. Even if you have erased all localizationsexcept english.

CFSporn is correct again.

It is a widely used convention in the web hosting and tech writing industries that sample text in a template is in random Latin. it's easy to see why it would look like Italian.

Sorry you went to so much trouble over this.

Boy do I feel stupid. I never knew of Latin being used for sample text. Maybe I should have looked at a manual first.

Get out your stupid crayon and color me in.

Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah that Lorem Ipsum stuff from Quark.

This is what it says in english:

But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?
