Safe to install RealPlayer, or spam and adware worries??

Recommended Posts

There are a number of sites I surf requring RealPlayer to see the content. Firefox has a 10.5 RealPlayer plug in from what I can tell.

My experience on my PC is that Real Player insinuated itself into parts of my system I didn't want it to --- generated tons of spam, kept popping parts of itself I wanted no part of, continued to try to make itself the default media player. etc.

Other than that it was a decent......

Should I accept missing some of my favorite sites, or is the plug-in OK to install..... ???

Real Player for the Mac is way better than it's PC conterpart. There is not a single ad, any background service, or junk. Just a application.
