A way to change the volume via terminal?

Recommended Posts

So I was wondering, is there a way to do any volume control via the terminal? If I SSH into someone's computer, is there a way to change the volume level? If not by just typing in a command (ie: 'volume -u' for volume up) is there a package that I could download?

You could use osascript...

do the following command in Terminal...

osascript -r 'set volume 7'

and it will take the computer's volume all the way up!
