20GB Photo and 4GB first gen nano (black)

4th gen were notorious for breaking (especially the extra fragile HDDs), but then iPods in general are heavily abused by 99% of owners, even if they aren't meant to be. Seriously, carve an Apple into the shape of an iPod, stick it in your pocket, bag, sit on it, chuck it in a drawer, on a desk, drop it, see how it looks at the end of just a single day and multiply the damage by 365. Warranties are abused with iPods frankly and I am as guilty as the next person for mis-treating a delicate and expensive device.

No iPod yet.

Because... I'm still waiting for that true video iPod to come out. The Archos 604 seems to be the best alternative at the moment, although it only has 30 GB of storage, doesn't play iTMS music, and doesn't have the nice integration with iTunes. The big screen size is cool, though. I hope the rumors concerning the true video iPod being released in December 2006 are true.

I think the true video iPod is ready and Apple needs to wait until it's the right time to release it. We haven't seen a new full iPod since October last year. maybe they will release it on the iPods 5th birthday which is a couple of days on october 21 i think.

I have seen alot of reports of the 4th gen 20GB having problems and I luckily got mine replaced with a new 20GB one.

I initially bought a 5.5G 30 GB Black iPod, but since all I really needed it for was to listen to podcasts in the car (and while waiting for appointments), I sold it and bought myself a 2nd Gen. Black 8 GB Nano which I love due it's size.

I've got a 5G 60Gb white one and a 2G 4Gb red nano.

[edit] And now a shiny new iPhone!
