Manually Increase fan rpms?

I have a powermac g4 and i was wondering if it is possible to increase the default fan speed.

apple menu->system prefs->energy saver->options

voila!

hmm . . . i dont have the option to set the processor performance to highest . . . i dont have Tiger, i have Panther . . .

It appears that you only get the option to alter processor performance if you are using a laptop. My Powermac G4 doesn't give you the option to change this setting either, and that's with Panther or Tiger.HTH.

Strange... I wonder why you would want to alter the processor performance of a desktop machine like a G5, that is hooked up to the mains? It's not as though you need to conserve those extra few watts to save some battery life. I wonder if anyone actually has their G5 clocked down in the power saving settings ?
